Dressing for the office isn’t always the easiest thing in the world, especially when you don’t have enough time on your hands to for a complete run home to change before going out at night. For those of you who know me, you know that I’m a huge proponent to efficiency and productivity, and quite frankly, I can hardly be bothered to spend more than 30 minutes getting ready for the day (and night!).
So, needless to say, I’ve found creative ways to combine my day and nighttime looks with a few simple changes that I can bring with me in my bag to the office.
This time around, I’m implementing my knee-high socks (day) and checkered stockings by Mondor (night) to accomplish this totally-doable feat.
My day-to-day is usually pretty hectic. Between managing my digital media and inbound marketing contracts, shooting and writing for my blog, and running my fashion eCommerce line, I literally need to be dressed comfortably while still managing to look fashionable.
My favorite daytime look as of late, that is versatile, comfortable, and easy to alter for the night’s outings, consists of my knee-high socks, a pair of white sneakers, and a little black and white dress. It’s professional and casual all at once, makes use of my all-time favorite color combination of black and white, and even garners some compliments from my new office mates.
Sure, maybe my white collared dress makes me look a little bit more like a Catholic nurse than an office professional, but I’m still all for it.
For some obvious reasons, having white sneakers and black knee-high socks isn’t all the most appropriate for a nighttime outing, so I’ve chosen to quickly and efficiently “night up” my look by putting on a pair of plaid stockings by Mondor and a pair of black patent stilettos. Then I simply leave my bag behind at the office and switch it out for a crossbody, put on a belt to add a waistline to this otherwise shapeless tilt dress, and voila! I’m ready for a night of fun.
