Today I finally, FINALLY!, climbed to the lookout at St. Stephen’s Basilica and got to witness a brand new vantage point of not only my favourite square in the world, but also a beautiful view of the entire city.
I’ve been to the square about a million times, and finally decided to make the trek up this morning, as it was perfectly overcast for photo taking. I’d highly recommend a trip up to the top of the basilica on your next trip – it costs only 500 HUF (about $2 CAD) and is well worth the (slightly) tiresome climb. For those weary of climbing, I believe you can also take an elevator all the way to the top, though I’d double check if this is of importance.
Either way, though, a trip to St. Stephen’s Square is absolutely breathtaking, whether you make it to the ideal vantage point or not.
